Our Board and Directors

At Black Pride NOLA, our mission is to celebrate and uplift the rich diversity and accomplishments of the Black LGBTQ+ community in New Orleans. Through fostering a supportive and empowering environment, we aim to promote equitable initiatives for all members of our community. By organizing events, educational initiatives, and advocacy efforts, we strive to create positive change, foster understanding, and celebrate the unique experiences and contributions of Black LGBTQ+ individuals. Together, we envision a future of inclusivity, acceptance, and empowerment for all, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or background. We prioritize services for members in need as well as uplift community members and social enterprises that give back to the Black LGBTQ Community.

Founder

Nikki Alexander-Tumblin is a visionary community leader and the esteemed founder of New Orleans Black Pride, widely known as Black Pride NOLA. With a passion for advocating for the rights and well-being of the Black LGBTQ+ community, Nikki has been a driving force in creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for all.


Her journey as a trailblazer began with a desire to address the unique challenges faced by Black LGBTQ+ individuals. Recognizing the need for greater representation, empowerment, and celebration of their identities, Nikki set out on a mission to build a platform that amplifies their voices and celebrates their culture.


Through her unwavering dedication, Nikki has curated a series of groundbreaking events and initiatives under the banner of Black Pride NOLA. These gatherings serve as powerful spaces for fostering unity, promoting cultural pride, and addressing pressing issues affecting the community.


Nikki's leadership has been instrumental in bringing together diverse voices, artists, activists, and organizations to collaborate and create lasting change. She firmly believes in the importance of intersectionality, recognizing that true progress comes from embracing and celebrating the diversity within the LGBTQ+ community.


Her vision has inspired countless individuals, empowering them to embrace their authentic selves and stand tall in the face of adversity. Black Pride NOLA has become a transformative force in the lives of many, instilling a sense of belonging, empowerment, and hope.
