Nikki Alexander-Tumblin is a visionary, community leader, and the esteemed founder of New Orleans Black Pride, known as Black Pride NOLA. With a passion for advocating for the rights and well-being of the Black LGBTQ+ community, Nikki has created a more inclusive and supportive environment for all.
Her journey as a trailblazer began with a desire to address the unique challenges faced by Black LGBTQ+ individuals. Recognizing the need for more excellent representation, empowerment, and celebration of their identities, Nikki built a platform that amplifies their voices and celebrates their culture.
With unwavering dedication, Nikki has curated a series of groundbreaking events and initiatives under the banner of New Orleans Black Pride. These include the annual ball in February and the annual pride festival, parade, and summit in June, each serving as a powerful space for fostering unity, promoting cultural pride, and addressing pressing issues affecting the community.
Nikki's leadership has brought together diverse voices, artists, activists, and organizations to collaborate and create lasting change. She firmly believes in the importance of intersectionality, recognizing that actual progress comes from embracing and celebrating the diversity within the LGBTQ+ community.
