Our history
New Orleans Black Pride, established in 2020, is a beacon of unity, celebration, and empowerment within the vibrant tapestry of New Orleans' LGBTQ+ community. This organization is dedicated to fostering inclusivity, advocating for equality, and creating a safe and joyous space that honors the unique experiences and contributions of Black LGBTQ+ individuals. Through a blend of cultural events, educational initiatives, and social activism, New Orleans Black Pride continues to uplift and amplify the voices of its community, fostering a spirit of resilience, pride, and solidarity.

Promoting diversity, equity, and positive change in the New Orleans Black LGBTQ+ community.
At New Orleans Black Pride, our mission is to celebrate and uplift the rich diversity and accomplishments of the Black LGBTQ+ community in New Orleans. We aim to promote equitable initiatives for all community members by fostering a supportive and empowering environment.
Through organizing cultural events, educational workshops on LGBTQ+ rights, and advocacy efforts, we strive to create positive change, foster understanding, and celebrate the unique experiences and contributions of Black LGBTQ+ individuals.
Together, we envision a future of inclusivity, acceptance, and empowerment for all, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, or background. We prioritize services for needy members and uplift community members and social enterprises that give back to the Black LGBTQ+ Community.

Nikki Alexander-Tumblin, Founder of New Orleans Black Pride
Nikki Alexander-Tumblin is a visionary, community leader, and the esteemed founder of New Orleans Black Pride, known as Black Pride NOLA. With a passion for advocating for the rights and well-being of the Black LGBTQ+ community, Nikki has created a more inclusive and supportive environment for all.
Her journey as a trailblazer began with a desire to address the unique challenges faced by Black LGBTQ+ individuals. Recognizing the need for more excellent representation, empowerment, and celebration of their identities, Nikki built a platform that amplifies their voices and celebrates their culture.
With unwavering dedication, Nikki has curated a series of groundbreaking events and initiatives under the banner of New Orleans Black Pride. These include the annual ball in February and the annual pride festival, parade, and summit in June, each serving as a powerful space for fostering unity, promoting cultural pride, and addressing pressing issues affecting the community.
Nikki's leadership has brought together diverse voices, artists, activists, and organizations to collaborate and create lasting change. She firmly believes in the importance of intersectionality, recognizing that actual progress comes from embracing and celebrating the diversity within the LGBTQ+ community.
Her vision has inspired countless individuals, empowering them to embrace their authentic selves and stand tall in the face of adversity. New Orleans Black Pride has become a transformative force in the lives of many, instilling a sense of belonging, empowerment, and hope.
